Submitted by Webmaster on Friday, April 6, 2007 - 10:23am

An ALUMINUM CAN RECYCLING DRIVE to benefit Newton Falls resident Douglas Coward, 17, who suffered third degree burns over 70 percent of his body in 2004, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 14 behind Sorrento’s Restaurant, 2488 Parkman Road N.W., Warren. People can bring items to the back parking lot. Since the collection began in 2005, 5,504 pounds of aluminum cans have been recycled, which is equal to 11 single car garages. For more information, call Connie at 330-399-4395.

A collection of pop can tabs is being held for the Kidney Foundation.

I know for a fact that this family was contacted by the Shriners Hospital offering Burn Treatment in Cincinnati. Which would have been absolutely FREE, they stated it was too far to travel. Transportation was also FREE. Having that knowledge why in the world would anyone have a benefit???
