Tunnel Lighting
Folks - we need a light in that tunnel under the RR bridge! I walk through there on my way to and from work, and it feels like something out of a Stephen King novel. I called the City Manager's office and they told me that they replace the lights regularly and then they are vandalized. Now I've been walking through that tunnel for seven years and I've never seen a new fixture in it. I think we need to consider safety above all else and get some heavy duty lighting in that tunnel. I know that other cities have lighting that they are able to keep in working order, so perhaps the City manager needs to speak to the folks in Youngstown or Pittsburgh or Cleveland. I don't want to walk in dark.

Tunnel Lighting
I think that light went out approximately 5 years ago. Since I walk through that tunnel almost daily, I am sure I would have noticed if the light had been replaced during that time.
It does appear that the wiring had been pulled out the last time. However I don't think one incident in an 9 year period of time constitutes regular vandalism. Besides the present City Manager hasn't been on the job long enough to notice any type of pattern. I think octobrianna was given the brush off by the City Manager. When is this city going to hire managers that simply do their job instead of spend the majority of their time making excuses why they can't perform their duties?
