Salvation Army Needs Help

The Salvation Army Newton Falls Service Unit is in need of people to ring the RED KETTLE BELLS from Friday to Monday. The kettles will be set up from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. those day at Giant Eagle, IGA and Pamida. To schedule a time, call 330-872-5574. Money raised will help families in the Newton Falls area.

Newton Falls church to hold a breakfast with Santa Claus

The First Congregational Church of Newton Falls, 612 West Broad St., will hold a free BREAKFAST WITH SANTA from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Sausage and pancakes will be served.

Fall Camp Planned for Love Cathedral International

Love Cathedral International will hold a fall camp meeting Oct. 6 at Ridge Ranch Campgrounds, state Route 303. Old-fashioned preaching and singing are planned at 1, 4 and 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Walters of Dallas, Bishop Patty Young of Youngstown, the Rev. Troy Taylor of Harrow, Ontario, Canada, and the Rev. Howard Thomas and the Rev. Billie Williams.

Animal Welfare League Poker Run

The ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE’S third annual poker run will be held Sunday with registration from 10 a.m. to noon at Faces Lounge, 13 W. Broad St., Newton Falls. The run will be held rain or shine. Registration is $15 per rider and $10 per passenger. All bikes are out at noon with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. The event will include a continental breakfast, door prizes, 50-50 raffle and Chinese auction. All proceeds benefit the league. Calling all Cloggers!

CloggersThe Fun Time Cloggers is marking its 20th anniversary this year and will hold a fun dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Newton Falls Community Center, 52 E. Quarry St.

The Cloggers started in 1987 by Mickey and Tim Whaley who said they had no idea that they would still be dancing 20 years later.

The Whaleys said their membership ranges between age 8 and 83. The group has entertained at nursing homes, reunions, parties and picnics and at most of the area fairs including the Trumbull and Canfield fairs and Ohio State Fair where they have made several appearances.
